The skin being treated will be numbed with a local anesthetic before the procedure begins. Depending on the depth, intensity, and extent of the treatment, some patients will feel discomfort during the recovery process. Swelling, itching, and stinging are common in the hours and days after a treatment. Your medical team will work with you to treat these symptoms and keep you as comfortable as possible during your recovery. Most patients recover fully in two to three weeks, though the final results of the treatment may not be apparent for several months.
