5 Differences Between A Medical Spa And A Skin Spa

What are the differences between a medical spa and a day spa? While the two facilities may offer a number of the same treatments, procedures, and therapies, they are two very different places. In this blog post, we will take a look at five big differences between our medi spa and a day spa.

Our Medical Spa Is Owned By A Medical Facility

The biggest difference between a medi spa and a day spa is that medical spas are owned and operated by medical doctors. Our medical spa is part of the Surgical Arts Centre, which offers a wide range of dental and cosmetic procedures, ranging from dental implants and sleep apnea surgery to facelifts and rhinoplasty.

Our Medical Spa Has A Physician Director

Out medical day spa is directed by Dr. Lisa Pacecho. Dr. Pacecho is trained to execute all of the procedures offered at the medical spa and either treats patients herself or oversees all procedures and consultations. Having a doctor directly involved in your care makes more certain that you are getting the best treatment from the most experienced people–and that you have the guidance of a medical doctor every step of the way, before, during, and after your treatments.

Our Medical Spa Is A Licensed Medical Facility

While day spas and skin spas can be located virtually anywhere, medical spas are located in official medical facilities. Our medi spa is located within the Surgical Arts Centre, which is facility accredited by the Accreditation Association of Ambulatory Health Care (AAAHC). This accreditation means that our offices offer the same level of care and safety as a hospital–an environment that we believe greatly benefits all of our patients and visitors.

We Are Not Focused On Relaxing/Pampering

Although we make absolutely certain that our patients are as comfortable as possible during their visits with us, our main function is not to provide a relaxing, spa-like experience for our visitors. While traditional spas may focus on a soothing environment and fun experience, our spa focuses on completing the treatments that our patients are seeking with the most care, expertise, thoroughness, and professionalism possible.

We Carry Medical Grade Skin Care Lines

Because we have a physician director and are housed in a medical facility, we have the knowledge and ability to provide or prescribe medical-grade skin care products to our patients. These skincare products are proven to help users attain more youthful skin, delay the signs of aging, and preserve the results of skin treatments. While skin spas often offer an array of skincare products, they are not able to offer medical-grade medicines, lotions, and ointments.
