Facial implants can improve the balance of your features, correct an underdeveloped feature, or simply highlight or emphasize a feature. In the past, I’ve seen chin and jaw implants truly boost self-confidence and change lives for the better.

Facial implants differ from most other cosmetic surgeries because they don’t remove or reduce skin, fat, or muscle. Instead, they give patients the opportunity to accentuate, enhance, restructure, and better define their features through the addition of implants.
An ideal facial implant surgery doesn’t make you look like someone else or drastically change your appearance – it simply balances your features and corrects small issues, such as an underdeveloped chin or an undefined jaw line.
At Missoula’s Surgical Arts Centre, our expert doctors and experienced medical staff will care for you throughout your facial implant process – and this outpatient surgery will be fully conducted in the privacy of our practice, from your initial consultation to your recovery.
We offer three types of facial implants:
• Chin implants.
• Cheek implants.
• Lower jaw implants.
The Procedure & After Surgery
Before your surgery, you will meet with your surgeon to discuss the process of the procedure, review the risks and benefits, and share your questions and concerns. You and your doctor will also discuss your expectations and the expected outcome of the procedure.
During the surgery, you will either receive general anesthesia or local anesthesia and IV sedation. After you are under, your doctor will insert your implants through small incisions. These implants, which may be made of various materials, will rest between your skin and soft tissue. Depending on your procedure, some will be secured with sutures or surgical screws.
After the surgery, your face will be bandaged and you will be taken to a recovery room. In the days following the procedure, you will likely experience some discomfort and swelling, which will be treated with prescription drugs, ice, and elevation. You may return home to continue your recovery a short time after your operation.
