Being surrounded by dramatic mountain peaks.
Fly-fishing along the banks of rushing rivers.
Snowshoeing on an alpine lake.
Sitting by a crackling fire in a rustic cabin.
These are just some of the reasons that patients choose to travel to the Surgical Arts Centre in Missoula, Montana, for their medical needs. And they are also some of the reasons that our doctors have chosen to live and practice here.
After your procedure, there is often a recovery period in which you are feeling better but not yet advised to return to work. While some patients chose to recover in their home, others prefer to use their vacation days on vacation – or to recover from a cosmetic procedure in a relaxing and anonymous place. Located in the Northern Rocky Mountains, Missoula offers our patients a plethora of recreation and tourism opportunities, from exploring two of the country’s most popular national parks to skiing, hiking, wildlife viewing, mountain biking, fly fishing and so much more. Whether your idea of recovery involves a Western road trip or a lakeside resort, Montana is bound to have the outdoor adventure you are looking for.

Why do our doctors practice in Missoula, Montana?
You might expect that most experienced cosmetic surgeons and oral and maxillofacial surgeons in the country practice in large urban centers, like New York City or Los Angeles. But the truth is that many experienced physicians choose to live and raise their families in less chaotic and more idyllic surroundings. Look no further than Dr. Taylor and Dr. Holtzen for proof – both embrace the joys of living in Montana.
Dr. Holtzen and his wife enjoy everything that Montana has to offer, including fishing, hiking, and boating. At the same time, their children have the unique opportunity to raise horses, goats, pigs and chickens on their property – and their three youngest boys are active in their local 4-H club.
Dr. Taylor and his family also have a love for Montana. Splitting his time between his practice in Missoula and his practice in Palm Desert, California, Dr. Taylor spends his free time doing everything from fly-fishing to cycling.

- They wanted to recover from their cosmetic surgery privately and away from home.
- They found Surgical Arts Centre more affordable than other options.
- They wanted to pair their procedure with a vacation, either alone or with their families.
